NR117K is a step-down regulator IC with built-in power MOSFET. With the current mode control, ultra low ESR capacitors such as ceramic capacitors can be used.
The ICs have protection functions such as Over-Current Protection (OCP), Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO) and Thermal Shutdown (TSD). In order to protect the IC against in-rush current at start-up, the soft start function is provided. The soft start time can be set by connecting external capacitors. A function to turn on/off by external signals is provided and by sending external signals to the EN terminal, NR117K can be turned on/off.
The setting value for OCP can be adjusted by the external resistor. Few external components required with built-in phase compensation circuit.
This device is supplied in a compact and thin HSOP 8-pin package with heat slug on the back side. To increase efficiency under light load conditions, operating frequency changes on a certain load current condition.
